This work is from "Flight From Shadow", a fan made short film based on the "Wheel of Time" series by Robert Jordan. In collaboration with Hraefn Wulfson at McGrew Studios, I helped design and build armor for the Myrddraal, his horse, and various props and costume pieces for the other lead characters in the film. Special thanks to Dolly Pratt and Hillarie Gowers, whose fingers were mangled in the cutting out of leather scales.

About Me

My photo
Dave Powell
From the time I slayed my first dragon in the back yard as a kid, I was hooked. Making my swords look more real was very important, so I had to grow up to become a specialty costume and props maker. Now I make armor and weapons for film, theater, and live themed entertainment. I sit between the world of wardrobe and special effects, and have developed a wide range of skills to support my passion for making fantasy come to life.
